
The origin of Aniseed is known to be in Middle East however now it is cultivated in the areas of USA, Europe as well as North Africa. Aniseed is known to be an annual herb which grows nearly 80 cm high and has an agreeable odour as well as an aromatic taste. The aniseed essential oil comes from the seeds of Pimpinella Anisum. The oil possesses a pungent smell and is called anise and sweet cumin. The viscosity of aniseed oil is known to be medium and it generally solidifies at low temperatures.
